B GRADE COMPETITION The second series of matches in the B grade water polo competition was completed at the Kiwi Amateur Swimming Club’s hour at the Municipal Baths last night, St. Clair B defeating Kiwi C alter a good game by five goals to two. This win put St. Clair B m the lead in the B grade with 4 points, Kiwi B with 2, Dunedin C 2, K;wi C 0. St. Clair led by two goals to one m the first spell, both goals being scored by H. Lewis, while D. Duff netted the first goal for Kiwi. In the second half St. Clair shaped with better combination and added three goals, W. M'Allen scoring soon after the resumption. This was followed by a goal by C. Gladwin after good passing among the forwards, and just before time J. Durand netted with a good shot. Kiwi’s goal in this half was scored by J. Holland. The game ended: St. Clair B 5, Kiwi C 2.

The teams were: Kiwi C.—J. Pickard. W. A. Black, G. Roberts, A. Murdoch, C. M'Gregor, J. Holland, and D. Duff. St. Clair. B.—A. Tyrie, H. Lewis, C. Gore, J. Durand, C. Gladwin, W. M'Allen, V. Aldous. Mr F. Beauchamp was the referee. The third series of games, completing the first round of the B grade competition, will be played next week, St. Clair B meeting Kiwi B on Monday night, and Kiwi C and Dunedin C playing on Thursday night next.
