FRENCH ACTIVITY IN PACIFIC COUNTER MOVE TO JAPAN. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, November 28. The ‘ Daily Herald ’ gives prominence to a Brisbane message stating that “ Franco is building secret submarine and air bases in the Pacific because she is afraid of Japan’s mystery moves in the Pacific. Travellers reaching Australia report that provision is being made for seaplanes and submarines in Now Caledonia.”
The ‘ Daily Herald’s ’ Paris correspondent soys he inquired from French official sources, and was told that the matter could not be discussed.
