Troops and gendarmes have been engaged in a three days’ siege of 100 anti-Semitic Iron Guards, whose suppression was ordered by the Government. They barricaded themselves m a house in Jassy. Finally, short of ammunition and food, they appealed for help from 100,000 fellow members, 1,000 of whom marched to their relief. They met a stubborn resistance, hut rushed and completely demolished the house of the Minister for the Interior. Fighting resulted, one student being killed and two seriously injured. Alany were injured in disturbances which followed. Budapest’s anti-Semitic disturbances, in which a number were severely injured, -resulted in twenty arrests and the closing of two universities.
