DAYLIGHT SAVING
BILL PROVIDES EXTRA SIX WEEKS TO OPERATE THIS SEASON [Fkom Our Paruamentarv Reporter.] WELLINGTON, November 29. Approximately six weeks will added to the duration of the half-hourj of daylight saving in New Zealand ifj Parliament approves the Governments Bill Mr Young (Minister of Internal? Affairs) will introduce into the House! this afternoon. At present the adjl vancing of the clock by half an homy commences on the second Sunday iia October and terminates on the thircß Sunday in March. The Bill, which? does not alter the half-hour in any! way, proposes that daylight savings start on the last Sunday in September] and conclude on the last Sunday inpj April. 1 The design of the measure is to nwy elude the Easter period, and the al< tered dates will make this possible for,S it is estimated, the next thirty years J If the Bill is passed the extended! term of duration will operate during! the current season.
