TRANSPORT LICENSING

GOODS AND PASSENGER SERVICES For the purpose of hearing applications for goods and passenger licenses, the No. 9 Transport Licensing Authority sat in the Council Chambers yesterday and this morning. The sitting was presided over by the chairman (Mr A. J. W. Wood, with whom were associated Messrs J. Preston and W. Blackie. The following goods service licenses were dealt with:—W. H. Ford (Lauder) granted two vehicle authorities; 1). E. Jones (Waipiata), authority; H. J. Hoskin (Ophir), four authorities; A. F. M'Grcgor (Cambrian), one authority; E. A. Sinclair (Lovell’s Flat), one authority; and T. Gilchrist and Sons (Oturehua), one authority. In the matter of amendments to goods service licenses, the application of M. M'Cone. (Oamaru) for a route license between Dunedin and Oamaru was declined. One authority was granted to G. H. Fox, of Alexandra.

Tho following passenger service applications were granted :S. C. Knowles (Glenorchy-Paradise), W. March (Kaitangata, Wangaloa, Stirling, and Falls Creek), J. Challis (Palmerston-Mpmsou’s), Finnie and Brown (Mosgiel railway station-fac tory gate), S. A. H. Robb (railway station-lloxburgh. Post Office), J. Tweedio (Balclutha-Balclutha Hospital), R. J. Campbell (Miller’s FlatRoxburgh), and the Love Construction Company (Port Chalmers-North Spit, for workmen). Further applications were dealt with in the afternoon.
