PAID IN SCOTLAND!
MORE THAN £IOO FOR A £1 NOTE LONDON, November 17. A pound note bearing the autograph of the Prince of Wales brought three figures at an auction sale in Glasgow—easily a record for Scotland. The autographing of the note was the result of a bet between Sir lan Hamilton and the Prince regarding the tartan the latter should wear as Duke of Rothesay, one of his subsidiary titles. Sir lan Hamilton said red, and the Prince said green and purple. He proved to be right,' and when Sir lan Hamilton paid up the Prince handed the note to the treasurer of the British Legion.
