FORGED WAGE REDUCTIONS
TARIFF CHANGE POSSIBILITIES MANUFACTURERS SEEK ASSURANCE [Special to the ‘ Stab.’] WELLINGTON. November 17. Holding that it is clear that further wage reductions can be forced on manufacturers as the result of reductions in the tariff, the Dominion Manufacturers’ Conference has passed a resolution asking Government assurance that no tariff changes will he made as the outcome of calculations based on the possibility of further wage reductions.
