[Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, November 9. Tbo population statistics in the latest ‘Gazette 1 show that the estimated population in New Zealand, including iMaoris, on September .‘lO last was 784,081 males and 755,101 females, a total of 1,.T0,782. The estimated Mauri population was 07,482 males and 04,542 females; total, 72,024. The estimated population of the North Island, including Maoris, was 511,190 males and 482,524 females; • total, 995,714. The estimated population of the .South Island, including Maoris, was 275,491 males ami 272,577 females; total, d 16,008. 5 'Pile : estimated population of New Zealaml with its dependencies and mamlaled territory, including the Cook Islands! Niue, Tokelau Island, and Western Samoa was 1,005,012. The (population showed an increase of 2,4j9, compared wiih an increase of 2,140 during the corresponding quartet ol 1992.
