EMPLOYMENT OF VOLUNTEERS STUMBLING BLOCK TO NEGOTIATIONS. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, October 15. The Melbourne meat employers have so far not granted the requests of the Trades Hall Disputes Committee for a conference with a view to a settlement of the strike. It is understood the employers are determined to give coninuity of employment to the voluneers, which is believed to be the stumbling block to the peace negotiations, CONFERENCE TO BE HELD. MELBOURNE, October 15. The parties have agreed to confer on Monday to try to reach a settlement.
