GOVERNMENT MEASURES Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright CALCUTTA, September 16. As a result of the murder of Mr Burge, the Midnapore magistrate, the Bengal Government has decided on the following measures;— 1. Increase the armed police force at Midnapore town at the expense of the inhabitants for one year. 2. Further increasing the town’s intelligence staff. 3. Apply to the Midnapore district the rules in force_ at Chittagong, enabling the authorities to control the movements of suspects, regulate traffic, and impose the curfew is _ required. Tho introduction of identity cards as in Chittagong is being considered.
