MR FRANCIS SISSON AMERICAN BANKER. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, September 17. (Received September .18, at 11.30 a.m.), The death is. announced of Mr Francis Sisson., aged sixty-two, vicepresident of the Guaranty Trust Company, of New York, a former president of the American Bankers’ Association and one of the leading opponents ot President Roosevelt’s banking programme, particularly the Guarantee Bank deposits clause. MR A, 6. GREAGH The death occurred at Oamaru last evening of a prominent citizen in the person of Mr A. G. Creagh, aged eighty-three. The deceased was born in Dublin in 1860 and came to the dominion as a boy. He was educated in Dunedin and served his articles with. Mr B C. Haggitt. He was admitted as a barrister in 1875, and bad practised in Oamaru ever since. He was the founder of the firm of Messrs Hislop and Creagh, now Messrs Hislop, Creagh and Main. He was Crown Prosecutor from 1885 till recently, and was for many years solicitor for the Borough and County Councils and Harbour and Hospital Boards. The deceased was keenly interested in all kinds of sport, and at one time owned racehorses. He was a valued patron of racing, cricket, rowing, football, athletics, cycling, and rifle clubs.. As a young man he was a keen volunteer* being a member of the Dunedin Navals from 1867 to 1875. He was captain of the I. Battery, Oamaru, for several years, and founded the Waitaki Mounted Rifles in 1901.
