THE JUBILEE DINNER [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 3<5. Almost ©very llugby Union in NonZealand was represented at a dinner given last evening by the. Auckland llugby Union in celebration of its jubilee year. Special honour was paid to Mr J. Arneil, who has been associated with the union ever since its formation in 1883, and is now its president. The mayor (Mr Hutchison), who presided, said that Rugby had been one of the greatest factors in securing recognition of New Zealand overseas. _ Sir James Gunson said the history and traditions of New Zealand football were ingrained into the sinew, bone, and_ brain of the people of the dominion. Ho complimented Mr S. S. Dean (chairman of tho New Zealand Rugby Union) on his work in that position. Ho said that Mr Dean was associated with the great 1924 team, but ho (Sir James Gunson) would not admit that it was as good as the 1905 team. Ho was, however, confident that New Zealand would yet produce a better team than either. Other speakers included Mr Dean (Wellington), Mr G. H. Mason (Canterbury), Mr R. Sheehan (Otago). Mr Prcndevillo (Wellington), Mr H. Frost and Mr F. Sutherland (Auckland).,
