The ‘Daily Mail’ says that the Schneider Cup pilot, Flight-lidutenant Stanisland, had an amazing.escape when a secret new machine got out of control. He jumped with his parachute, but was thrown hack into the cockpit by a rush of wind. The machine dived a further 700 ft, and Stanisland jumped again, landing unhurt. The plane pancaked to earth two miles away and was .wrecked.
