BOWLS
THREE BOWLS V. FOUR IN PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 13. An endeavour was made at a meeting to persuade the Wellington Bowling Centre to reverse its decision to play the centre pairs’ championship with three bowls per player and return to the old system of four bowls. The discussion ended in the threebowl game being sustained, by a substantial majority.
Probably a record for Canterbury this season was put up by A. A. M‘Leod at the Methvon Gun Club’s shoot. In four matches he broke fiftyeight birds off the first| barrel before missing. 1
