RAILWAY CROSSING FATALITY
CHARGE OF NEGLIGENT DRIVING

WELLINGTON, September 13. Stanley Frank Lincoln was charged before Mr Page, S.M., to-day with negligent driving so as to cause death. The accident occurred on the night of May 21, when the defendant, driving back to Palmerston North, attempted to cross the railway at Porirua, the defendant’s wife, his four-year-old daughter, Mrs Gaskin, and Miss Enright losing their lives. Evidence is proceeding on the lines given at the inquest. The accused was committed for trial in his own bond of £SO.
