. MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Motor Club was held last evening. The president (Mr P. W. Breen) presided. PARKING IN RATTRAY STREET. , v A letter was received from town .clerk stating that, following upon a recent deputation regarding the parking - regulations in Rattray street, it had been decided that in the meantime the regulations ghould not be enforced, and the necessary instructions had been given to the traffic inspection staff. The original regulation, which allowed a standing time limit of fifteen reunites, would be reverted to. —Received. SOUTH ISLAND UNION. It was decided to support the'nominations of Dr. S. A. Gibb, of Nelson, and - Messrs E. J. Anderson and W. R. Carey as. vice-presidents of the South Motor Umon. . The meeting decided to instruct dele§ates. to the. annual meeting of the outh Island Union to stress the neces- ” sity for. attention being given to the • matter of safety 'in - connection with trailers on motor vehicles.’ In this respect the chairman mentioned a case where a trailer, had become detached and had 'run back down a hill, and caused a certain amount of damage ,in addition to * being a danger to pedestrians. The following delegates were appointed to represent the club at the annual meeting of the South Island Union:—Messrs E. J. Anderson, J. L. Passmore, 6. T. Thorne, W. Wright. WELL AT AKATORE. The Secretary reported that a well, now in use at Akatore. Creek by the unemployment gangs, would be made suitable for campers, and would be a decided asset for such people, as water previously had to be carried long distances. APPLICATION . FOR REINSTATEMENT. • A. Creighton, P. Lyders, and J. Chalmers applied for reinstatement as amateur motor cyclists.—The Chairman said the suggestion had been made that the cliih should reinstate the riders and report upon this action to a responsible body when such a one was formed. As matters stood, there was no body which had the power to say whether riders should be reinstated or not.— I was decided to adopt the suggestion. • GENERAL. Accounts amounting" to £233 18s lid were passed for payment. It wag decided to nominate Messrs B. Falck and H. C. Harley for re-elec-tion as directors of the South Island Motor Union Insurance Association.

As this was the twenty-first anniversary of the formation of the club, it was decided to hold a dinner on the night of the annual meeting to which all those who had been associated with the club in the past would be invited. Mr J. L. Passmore, who had attended the annual meeting of the North Island Motor Union, gave a brief rtport on the proceedings, and was thanked for his interesting resume of the decisions which had been arrived at on various matters affecting motorists.
