Andrews beat Leembruggen, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1; Timmer beat Stedman, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4; and Andrews and Stedman beat Timmer and Scheuller, 6-0, 6-3.

The South Island team was selected on Saturday with one eye on the tour of Britain in 1936 stated Mr Dean, Chairman of the New Rugby Union Committee at an official dinner on Saturday night. It was essential that the representation at that time should be adequate. He considered that in 1936 New Zealand would secure a team equally as good as that of 1924. Referring to Ranfurly Shield challengers, Mr Dean said he did not favour altering the rules to prevent minor unions playing for that trophy.* In his opinion teams playing for the Seddon Shield should get away from the competition for it and play for the Ranfurly Shield so as to meet the best sides of all unions in the dominion. There was no better way to improve the standard of Rugby (applause).
