MAHAWATU BEATS WELLINGTON [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 6. Manawatu defeated Wellington by three goals to two in a representative match at Karori Park this afternoon. Play for the greater portion of the game was below representative standard. but was very spirited in the last quarter of an hour. Wellington was loading by two goals to one at the end of the first spell. The Wellington game was in the nature of a trial game for the Manawatu representatives, who will meet Auckland at Auckland on September 16 in a challenge match for the Now Zealand Challenge, Shield, which is at present held by Auckland.
