t The Gilbert and Sullivan opera ' The Gondoliers ’ was performed in a bedroom by the Southampton Amateur Operatic Society lor the wife of the society’s honorary producer, Mr George Mitchell. Not even the dances wore omitted, but there was a piano instead of an orchestra.
