HUT FOR BOYS
Y.M.G,A. WAR WORK

CHRISTCHURCH, April 4,
Work is to be started in Wellington shortly on the new Y .M.C. A. hut for boys, probably at Petono. The funds come from £1,200 subscribed by the New Zealand soldiers during the war for the erection of a memorial of the war work of the association. The trustees are Sir Andrew Russell and Mr J. L. Hay, Y.M.C.A., president and national treasurer.
ANNOUNCEMENT PREMATURE
WELLINGTON, April 4. Referring to the Christchurch telegram concerning the proposed Y.M.C.A. hut for boys Mr,R. M. Brasted, national secretary of the association, says the announcement is a trifle premature. The subject was discussed at the national convention of the Y.M.C.A. at Christchurch, but it was not decided where the hut should he erected. The idea to erect a hut on the lines of those used during the Great War for boys’ work was being cpnsidered. There was scope for this class of work between Petone and Hntt. Nothing was finalised at the convention,' however.
