The North Island lawn tennis championships were virtually: concluded todav in ideal weather. . Malfroy wrested the men’s singles title from the holder, R. A; Court. The loser played a steady game, but was not in Malfroy’s class. Miss Whyte retained the ladies’ title against Miss Howell, who was defeated after a clbsely contested second set.
