BURNS ANNIVERSARY

The memory of .Robert Burns will never die in the hearts of true Scotsmen, and the celebration of the birth of the national poet will be held by the Dunedin Burns Club in the Concert Chamber, Town Hall, to-night. The memories and sentiment of his great songs have endeared him t° nil, and this opportunity of hearing these gems should not be missed, Mr W. Wood, of Invercargill, a keen Burns_ enthusiast, will have something of interest to say in his address, ‘ Burns—the Man.’

Mrs Wilfred Andrews, of Wellington, will be warmly welcomed and with Misses Mary Pratt, Dorothy Mackay, Arthur Macdonald, J. Kennedy, A. M'Dowell, and tho Male Quartet will be heard to advantage. Additional items by Mr A. Sligo (elocutionist), Mr Desmond Neilson (instrumentalist), Reel Party, Burns Choir, and Pipe Band will complete the programme.
