FINE RAILROAD DRAMA
* MYSTERY TRAIN ' FOR OCTAGON A fine story, set in a unique background, with plenty of big thrills, containng tense • dramatic moments and calling for good acting, go a long way in making an absorbing picture; and as this is all included in ‘ The Mystery, Train,’ which opens at the' Octagon Theatre on Friday, it is sure to attract large audiences. , Imagine a fight on a runaway observation car headed for an embankment when the brakes are not working.Imagine the horrors of an express wrecked at night. Truly this is a picture of outstanding entertainment,carefully planned and painstakingly produced, a railroad romance of very high class. An air of mystery hangs over part of the film, for it is a story which requires to be followed closely. No scene is overdone, and there are many little pictures of everyday life which, although they seem trivial at the time,lead up to a grand climax. The cast includes Hedda Hopper, Bryant Washburn, Nick Stuart, and Marceline Day.An extraordinary cast was assembled for ‘ Beyond Victory,’ a Bathe picture directed by John Bobertson. which will also be on view next week. E. H.Calvert plays a colonel in a thrilling sequence, which knits • together the four separate stories dealing with’ the civilian life of five men facing momentary death ,on a ar-time mission.
