BURNSIDE STOCK SALES

HIGH PRICES FOR WETHERS Good beef was up in value at Burnside to-day, from 10s to 15s a head more being paid. There was also an advancement in the fat sheep prices, in some cases the highest rates for months being paid, while the freezers were responsible for keeping the value of lighter stuff a little above that of last week. Pigs did not meet with a very strong sale, and the prices dropped a little.

Cows sold at late rates from £3 to £5, while a truck of choice heifers brought £7 ss. Others went from £5 to £6. Extra prime beef was from 10s to 15s a head better than last week. The prices obtained would work out equal to 20s a 1001 b for extra heavy beef, 22s for light-weights, 20s for choice heifers, and 14s to 15s for cows.
