NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS [Per United Press Association.] MASTER!ON, January 24. The North Island tennis championships were continued to-day. In the boys’ championship singles final J. W. Gunn (Auckland) defeated 1. Bowden (Masterton), 6-0, 6-0. The other results are:—* LADIES’ SINGLES. -Quarter-finals. — Miss'Howell beat Miss Haggitt, 6-2, 4-6. 6-2. Miss M. RutherfoVd beat Miss Macassey, 8-6, 3-6, 6-3. Miss Bell beat Miss Glenny, 6-3, 5-7, G-4. —Semi-final.— Miss Whyte beat Miss R. lliddiford, G-2, 6-1. - LADIES’ DOUBLES. —Quarter-finals. — Misses L. and M. Rutherford beat Misses Beetham and V. Rutherford, 6-3, 6-1. Hisses Todd and Whyte beat Misses Swainson and Swainson, 6-3, 6-1. Misses Macassey and Gould beat Misses Glenny and Howell. G-4, 6-2. —Semi-final.— Misses Whyte and Todd boat Misses L. and M. Rutherford, G-4, 2-6, 6-4. J. AV. Gunn won the final of the B grade men’s handicap singles, and Rayton and Rishwortb (Masterton) won the final of the B grade men’s handicap doubles.
