NO FORTUNE AFTER ALL
.TALE ABOUT RICH UNCLE A young couple of Wallasey, Lancashire, believed themselves to be wealthy beyond their wildest dreams when a mysterious visitor, an old man, called at their homo recently. Ho stayed the week-end, and convinced them that they wore going to benefit under the will of an uncle whom they knew had made a fortune in Australia. The visitor was so conversant with the history of the family and the life of the uncle who made good in Australia that there was no reason to suspect his story. The husband could not resist the temptation to tell his friends, and he had no misgivings when the unknown visitor announced that he had to return to London to look up records at Somerset House.
Days passed, but the old man failed to return. Now the couple are resigned to the belief that both the old man and their “inheritance” have gone for ever.
