BUILDING COSTS RISING
Speculation is ril'o as to the ultimate effect of the increased exchange rate on building materials as well as other everyday commodities. One thing is certain to occur, and that is a lo per cent, increase in the cost of materials. Already the price of association lines, such as roofing iron, shows a rise in accordance with the increased exchange rate. .Many other materials, however, particularly New Zealand-made goods, have not yet advanced to the full effect of the upward swing in prices which will ultimately follow in nearly all commodities. 'fhe wise man to-day who desires to carry out his building plans will proceed immediately to do so.
