MR NEILSON AND RUSSIA.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Seeing you were unable to publish the whole of ray letter in reply to “ Britisher,” I can only say you gave a very fair resume of it, with one exception, and that was when you added an opinion of your own. I said there were possibilities of a wonderful future ahead of the Russian developments, to which von added the comment “ which may be true of any country,” This to me seems impossible under a capitalist system of economy, and although some improvement may and will have to be inaugurated if the system is not going to collapse all of a sudden, still the exploited masses must always be a subiect class, and as such must he slaves. i-I am, etc., P. Neilson. . January 23.
IMr Noilsoivs opinion us as oreat nonsense.* Under a capitalist system any of his “ exploited class, by thrift aiul intelligence, can become capitalists or anything else, and a very large proportion of them are to a greater or less degree.—Ed. E.o.J
