(Received January 21, at 10.30 a.m.) Ted Phelps denies any knowledge of the Australian report that he is going to the Parramatta River to row Burns for the world title. Phelps lost money at Los Angeles when he defeated Major Goodsell. He is fully prepared to row Burns anywhere provided suitable guarantees are forthcoming, but he has so often been disappointed after tentative arrangements have been .made that he now refuses to commit himself prematurely.
