EMPIRE PROGRAMMES
The Empire programmes now being broadcast from the new station at Daventry should prove very popular with New Zealand listeners as soon as they “ get into their stride.” ft should be recognised that the broadcast of gramophone records will not be popular; these can be received much better from the local stations. Orchestral programmes of the 8.8. C. are very familiar to American listeners, rebroadcasts being carried out regularly; and if such were put on for Empire transmission they would become very popular.
