'THE RED HILLS'
JUiys Davies’s latest novel, ‘ The Red Hills’ (Putnam), is a most unusual story of life- in the hills of Wales. It is an ultra-modern story which deals with the most intimate phases of love with young people who are not bound by any Victorian restrictions. Nevertheless it is an attractive story told in a skilful manner, and will add greatly to the author’s reputation. Although still a young man, Mr Davies has not led a sheltered life, but has knocked around with all classes, and has had experiences that do not fall to the lot of every man. All these things have given him an insight into the lives of the people, and he is able to infuse a reality into the characters in his books.
