BREAK-UP CEREMONY Yesterday afternoon at the break-up ceremony of the Kclsey-Yaralla Kindergarten, Mrs D. Phillips, president of the Free Kindergarten Council, expressed pleasure at being m a position to report a successful year s work. Iho council was grateful to the local committee for practical help and . sympathetic interest, which were of great vriluG in the most difficult j’GUi experienced in this work. It was recognised that the co-operation of mothers and fathers was necessary to make a kindergarten in the true sense of the name; this co-operation brought the homo into touch _ with the school, which was very desirable, ihe loss of the Government grant just twelve months ago meant something like £I,OOO a year to them, and if it had not been for the assistance of the general public and private citizens, not forgetting the wide publicity from the Press it would have been almost nilpossible for them to continue activities. Finally, the speaker thanked Misses Macdonald ami Hqthcmigton for tic work they had earned out among the children. .
