[From Qua Correspondent.] Since the sitting of the Warden’s Court last week those claimholders who were granted permission, to enter and peg have been seen making sure their respective areas are again clearly defined. Regulations under the Mining Act define very clearly the of marking out of claims and mining privileges. ’ At every angle or corner of eacli boundary, pegs of substantial material, standing not less than 2ft above the surface,' and not less than Sin square or 3in in diameter (if round) are to be erected, and the direction of the boundary line on each side of each peg shall bo indicated by a trench sft along the boundary line on each side of the peg, and a depth and breadth of at least 6in. A survey is not necessary where a prospecting license only is applied for. As there will not be another sitting of the Warden’s Court until February, and as so very few applications were determined at last week’s sitting, little activity can be expected now till after February, but claimholders still have in view the practical testing of their areas in a concerted effort, and it is quite possible that matters will be well in hand so that work may be commenced in earnest after applications are disposed of at the February sitting.
