The Orepuki arrived this morning with general cargo, incAidiug overseas transhipments ox Port Hunter. The Orepuki loads out and sails to-night for Wanganui via way ports. The motor vessel Holmglen arrived late last night_ from Wellington,_ and is to leave again to-night for Waikato via ports. . The Wingatui is to sail from Lyttelton at 6 p.m. to-day for Timaru and Dunedin, now being du© at this port on Saturday morning. After discharge she loads out and sails on Monday afternoon for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Gabriella, from Newcastle and Sydney, is due at Wanganui to-day. She later proceeds to Westport and Greymouth to load for Melbourne.

THE FERRY SERVICE. From Wellington, the Rangatira arrived at Lyttelton at 6.40 this morning, and passengers and mails connected with the south express. YOSEEIC COMING SOUTH. The Bank Line steamer Yoseric has left Auckland for Lyttelton and Ravensbourne to put out the rest of her phosphate cargo from Makatea Island. She is due here about December 20. PORT GISBORNE AT LONDON. The Port Gisborne, which left Auckland on November 4 for Home, arrived at London on December 10. NORTHUMBERLAND LEAVES PANAMA. En route from England in ballast, the Northumberland arrived at and sailed from Panama on December 10. She is due in New Zealand about January 2. YARBAVILLE REPORTS. The tanker Yarraville, en route from San Francisco, has reported by wireless that she expects to arrive at Wellington on Monday. Her other discharging port are Lyttelton and Dunedin. MAIMOA IN BALLAST. Cabled advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill Company that the Alaimoa left Shields last Saturday in ballast for New Zealand via the Cape of Good Hope and Sydney. She is due in Now Zealand on January 23 to load Homewards. NARBADA LEAVES CALCUTTA. Tho Union Company has received cabled advice that its chartered steamer Narbada left Calcutta on December 9 for Penang, Singapore, and Samarang, to complete loading for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is duo at Auckland on January 7. OLYMPIC FOR OVERHAUL. Tho White Star liner Olympic has been withdrawn from service and will be laid up for about throe months for extensive repairs and overhaul, owing to engine trouble. Tho Olympic, with the Majestic and Homeric, maintains the White Star express service from Southampton to New York, and it is not yet known what liner will bo used to replace her while she is laid up. NOTICES TO MARINERS. Tho Marine Department advises that reclamation works to the west side of the Main wharf in Bluff Harbour render it dangerous to approach within a line drawn 117 dog from an approximate position 92yds, 240d0g from the inner corner of the .western end.

The department also advises alteration in tha character of a light at Udu Point, Fiji Islands. On or about December 26 the character of tho light will bo altered from fixed to group flashing every 16sec, thus: Flash o.Bsec, eclipse 2.osec,' flash, O.Ssec, eclipse 12.4scc.
