BURDEN TOO GREAT
WINNIPEG GATHOiIG SCHOOLS TD CLOSE AT END OF YEAR Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright WINNIPEG (Manitoba), Dec. 13. (Received December 14, at 10 a.m.) That all Catholic schools in Winnipeg will be closed at the end of the year was announced by Monsignor A. A. Sinnott (Archbishop of Winnipeg), and the public schools will be called upon to provide for 2,400 more children from grades one to eight. The archbishop stated that after more than forty years’ effort the burden had become greater than could be borne. Ten schools would he closed. It was announced that the pupils will he accommodated by the public schools.
