CARNIVAL AT CENTRAL BATTERY
The carnival at the Central Battery, St. Kilda, was again well attended last night, wiien the various amusement devices proved popular, and the cabaret was crowded. The attractions include roll-downs, bargain stalls, a wireless station from which messages, can be sent by visitors to their friends, and a special shooting device, which has aroused a good deal of attention. ■ - TUG-OF-WAR. Second Round.—l4th Battery beat 12th Battery 1.. H.Q. A Company, O.R. beat 12th Battery 11. The finals of the tug-of-war and the guard mounting competition will bo hold to-morrow evening. A night attack, an air raid, and a Scottish invasion by members of the 14th Battery will be attractions this evening, and a good deal of interest should be aroused by the second appearance of the Y.M.C.A. gymnastic squad. The Artillery Band (Southern Command) will again play.
