RESTORATION OF NAPIER
GRATIFYING PROGRESS [Peu United Piiess Association.) NAPIER, December 13. Warm praise of the progress which Napier is making towards a complete recovery from the earthquake disaster was expressed by the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) when opening the Hawke’s Bay Adjustment Court at Napier this morning. Voicing the pleasure felt by himself and his associates, Messrs L. O. H. Tripp and H. J. Von Haast, at the change which had taken place since their last visit, His Honour said: “It is four months since Air Von Haast and I were last in Napier, and six months since Mr Tripp was here, and all arc ns delighted as we arc astonished at the progress which has been made in the restoration, and not only the restoration. but also the beautifying, of this fine 1 itlie town of yours. The improvements which have been made rut the waterfront are attractive and delightful, and the buildings which are being oroeted would be a credit to any town in New Zealand.”
