The Dominion Meteorologist (Dr E. Kidson) supplied the following at noon to-day,—The indications are for westerly winds, moderate to strong after about sixteen hours, and backing by west to south; cloudy to overcast weather, showery; barometer, unsteady, with a falling tendency; seas moderate, but increasing; tides, moderate. The motor ship Holmglen is due here this evening from Wellington to unload and load cargo. She sails to-morrow for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Winjjatui is now due at Dunedin on Friday afternoon from Auckland via ports to discharge cargo. On Saturday morning she loads again, sailing later for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Opihi is to load at Dunedin on Monday for Oamaru, Timaru,' Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. , Due on Sunday from Wellington, the Poolta is to load out;at this port, sailing on Tuesday morning for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne. The Orepuki left Wellington last night for Dunedin, where she is due to-morrow morning to unload general cargo including transhipments from the Port Hunter, from New York. The Orepuki then loads cargo lor Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. After loading at New Zealand ports, the Tasmania was to leave Auckland this morning for London via Cape Horn and Montevideo. . The Nobel auxiliary schooner Huia, from Auckland, has been at Melbourne for a week, and was to sail to-day for Perth. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Wahine. from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.50 this morning, and passengers and mails caught the south express. THE BENCRUACHAN. The Bencruachan arrived at Picton at daybreak on Monday, and was to sail at daybreak to-day. Her other loading ports are Napier, Tolaga Bay, ciiington, and Port Chalmers. THE TEES SAILS. The Chatham Islands steamer Tees left Lyttelton on Monday evening with mails, cargo, and supplies for the Chatham Islands. She took the following passengers:—Misses 10. Paynter. Din (,2), Mrs M. Smith, MeSsrs N. T. Tewiata, and D. C. Tregertha. AORANGI AT AUCKLAND. The Union Company’s motor liner Aorangi left Auckland yesterday for Suva, Honolulu, and Vancouver, where she is due on December 29. PERSONALS. -Mr C. W. Pirie is rejoining the Waipahi as chief engineer after holiday leave. Mr J. J. Kettle has rejoined the Waipiata as chief engineer after holidays. . .
