The fortnightly meeting of Court Excelsior, No. 6,128, A.0.F., was held in; St. Mary’s Hall, Durham street, Mornington. The court was opened by, I. Bro. J. C. S. M'Minn. The secretary was instructed to send a letter of sympathy to Bro. M. C. Anderson, on the death of his son, the court standing in silence. • Correspondence was received from the Forester’s Home, Bexley Heath, Kent, England,, from Bros. Q. Kewish, J. Dickinson,) and C. E. Boys, and from the Mayoress (Mrs R. S. Black) re tickets for the children’s party, which were given te an unemployed member. P.C.R. 8r0.., J. W. Leitch installed the newly-elected J.W., Bro. A. C. Oldham. It was decided to have an honour board installed in the court for Past District Chief Rangers and Past Presidents of the Juvenile Council. At the close of the meeting the court juveniles, Court Excelsior’s Pride, were welcomed by the C.R. C.R. Bro. T. Harrison suitably, replied. A quoit competition was held,, Bro. R. Henderson winning the senior, division and Bro. D. Martin the junior; division.
A £5,000,000 overhead aerodrome, in' the shape of a giant steel wheel, half a mile in diameter, is being planned for central London. The “ wheel ” is to be supported by _ thirty-six skyscrapers, and the design will be such! that planes can always make a safe landing, irrespective of the direction of the wind.
