COMMITTEE MEETING A meeting of the committee of the Forbury Park Trotting Club was field last night. Present:—Messrs B. S. Irwin (chairman), H. Arch bold, J. Black, G. J. Barton, W. J. L. Goughian, A. Clark, H. Halliday, D. C. Jojh’, Janies Mitchell, John Mitchell, J. llicliardson, and J. Trengrove. The club’s starter (Mr W. F. Dunne) wrote explaining the circumstances surrounding the starting of the last race at the spring meeting, and it was decided to accept the explanation. The Programme Committee’s recommendations for the club’s summer meeting on January 26 and January 28

were adopted. These show that the Dunedin Cup will be open to horses that can do 4.28 or better, and will carry a stake of 350sovs. The feature of the second day’s card will be the Metropolitan Handicap, carrying the same class as the cup and a stake of 300sovs. The sprints on each card, the Flying Handicap and the An Revoir Handicap, have been endowed with stakes of 200sovs, and are for horses that can do 2.45 or better. The class for' the two-mile races for nnhoppled trotters has been loosened to 5.2 or better. , .

It was decided that nominations close on January 10, while handicaps will bo declared on January 17 and acceptances on January 20. Horses nominated for the meeting and placed at the Wellington Meeting on January 14 may be nominated for a tighter class, provided such nominations are made by 5 p.m. on the following Monday. It was also decided that horses nominated at the meeting may be renominated for races on the second day provided such horses put lip placed performances at the Timaru Meeting on January 21. Such renominations must be made within half an hour of the conclusion of the first day’s racing.
