CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS
SHOPPING HOURS ANNOUNCED Long holidays at Christmas and New Year are announced by the Dunedin retailers. Christmas Day falls on a Sunday. The late night will bo observed on Friday, December 23, when under the statutory provisions the shops will remain open till 10 o’clock. All shops will bo closed at 12.30 p.m. on Saturday, and will remain closed till the following Wednesday morning. The same hours are to be observed during the New Year. The arrangements have given wide satisfaction to the employees, who, by the closing for the Saturday afternoons, will be able to depart without delay for the holiday resorts.
