(Received October 13, at 12.30 p.m.) The Rome correspondent of ‘ The Times ' describes one of the greatest of the archteological triumphs in recent years. Professor Maiuri, Superintendent of Antiquities, discovered on the west side of Mount Cumse the cave in which the Sibyl of Cumso delivered the Oracles and predicted the foundation of Rome to rEneas.
Professor Maiuri,, when exploring a wine cellar, discovered a corridor exactly described by Virgil in the Sixth Book of the /Eneid, ending in a vaulted chamber in which tile Sibyl dwelt.— ‘ London Times ’ Cable.
