Senator Borah, who is taking a nonpartisan stand in the Presidential election, outlined a four-point programme for economic recovery, namely, the adjustment of world war problems, expansion of the currency, elimination of extravagance in government, and the adjustment of private debts to conform to the change in money values. FARMERS' DEMANDS MARCH ON WASHINGTON PROPOSED, WASHINGTON, October 11. The Farmers’ National Relief Conference, an organisation which has grown out of the recent farm strikes at lowa and elsewhere in the Middle West, to-day announced a “ farm march upon Washington ” on or about December 7. Between 500 and 5,000 disgruntled farmers are expected to come in trucks and motor cars to present to the Government definite demands, including a moratorium on debts, rents, taxes, and mortgages, the postponement of foreclosures, tax sales, and evictions, and direct financial relief for indigent farmers. In view of the fact that a Communist march about December 15 is definitely Elanned, and the possibility of another onus expedition about the same time, the _ police chief has requested the officials to grant him complete authority to evict the marchers if necessary, so as to preclude the possibility of military action, as was the case in connection with the previous bonus marchers.
