ST. PATRICK'S CLUB MEETING A well-attended and highly enthusiastic meeting of the members of the St. Patrick’s Harrier and Amateur Athletic Ciub was held in the club rooms of the St. Patrick’s Social Club, the president (Mr H. II- H. Banghen) being in the chair. The Chairman, after welcoming several i*ew members and expressing satisfaction at the attendance, briefly outlined the business of the meeting, which had been called to stimulate inluvst iu the summer activities of the cluh.

Mr \V. C. M’Domicll referred to the matter of subscriptions of members unable to pay. and requested any member in'arrears to see the president, Mr A 1 ‘Gill. or himself, as they had been appointed a special committee to deal with that matter. Me further placed before the members a scheme to create enthusiasm during the summer mouths, and after some discussion it was decided to hob! small club sports meetings during those months at lourweekly intervals. Another suggestion which was agreed to was that club championships should be held towards the end of, the season, the successful competitor to receive a certificate or other award.

The matter of training caused much talk, there being some members in favour of making the Oval the central training ground, while others favoured the Caledonian, the foreshore, and Logan Park. It was finally decided that member 1 - should train in groups at anv ground that was most suitable to them, hut that combined training should he carried out each Sunday morning on the foreshore at 10.30.

A special committee consisting of Messrs .1. Daly (track captain). W. T. ilvan, -I. Henderson. 11. Baughen (president), and ML C. M‘Donnell (secretary) was appointed to control tie.track and field events. There was some difference of opinion as to where the annual social and presentation of prizes should ho held, hut a motion was finallv agreed to that it should hr- held at the Kl Dorado Cabaret on November "2.

The selectors announced that a system of challenging would be instituted for places in relay teams ami that any runner (Ttsiring to run in No. 1 team eon Id arrange to rare against anv member of the present team for his place.
