FREEZING WORKERS
The mayor (Mr R. S. Black) has received the following telegram from Mr F. Jones, M.P.: —“ Understand freezing workers in Dunedin are not being granted relief. Minister states that certifying officers have been instructed to examine all cases, and where necessary to grant relief. Can you find out why that relief has not been given?’’ ’ After Mr Black had looked into the position he replied to Mr Jones as follows: —“Necessitous cases of freezing workers have been granted relief work.”
