SEVERE EARTHQUAKE

ATHENS, September 27. (Received September 28, at 10 a.m.) One hundred people were killed and 150 injured as the result of an earthquake in the Chalcidice region. The village of Stratonikion was destroyed and houses at leriossos collapsed.

A severe earthquake was registered seismographically in England, and this was speedily followed by news of shocks in .Yugoslavia, the districts most affected being Kapela, Valandovi, Guevgueli, Donir, ana Kavadartzi. Though there were no casualties, the panic-stricken peasants have taken to the fields.
