(Received September 28, at 12.30 p.m.) The Free State has issued a revised list of duties on cereals and animal foods, including 7s 6d per cwt on nonEmpire maize, oats, and barley, and 6s on Empire goods. Similar preferences are granted other products. The results of the tariff war are shown in the latest Free State returns of imports from Britain, which in August amounted to £1,767,000, compared with £2,523,000 in August of last year. The exports to Britain were £1,212,000, compared with £2,926,000.
