On Friday, September 30, a street collection will he held for the purpose of raising funds for the Mission House., We would point out, too, that this is the first time during the «twenty-seven years of this institution’s existence that it has been found necessary to make a street appeal. We trust that the public will respond generously to this appeal for assistance, and hope that it will be unnecessary for us to collect in this way again for some considerable time. The Mission House is unbounded by denominationalism, and no deserving case 'is turned away empty provided we are in a position to give the relief sought. For the month of August alone relief was provided for, 3,948 persons. _ As is often pointed out to’ us, there is the danger of exploitation of charitable institutions which has to ba warded against. The chaplain of the Mission House, the Rev. V. G. Bryan King, as most people know, has been connected with social work in this city for a great number of years, and as a result of his wide experience it is most difficult for tho mission to ba exploited. . ...
