MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

R.S.A. CLUB On Monday evening last the Returnod Soldiers' Miniature Rifle Club B team met the D.S.A. No. 2 team in the B grade interclub match competition, and secured a win. The following are tlie scores:—R.S.M.R.C. B: J. Harrison 79, T. Menzies 78, D. H. Rowntree 76, S. Ewens 76, W. T. Grant 72, R. Morrison 71, L. Watson 70— total, 522. Counted out: S. Harvey 70. D.S.A. No. 2: R. Sellars 75, Miss M. Adair 73, J. Dick 72, Miss G. Williams 71, Miss J. Laing 70. E. Ridley 61, W. Pollock 68—total, 490. Counted out: R. Blagdon 57. Upon the conclusion of the B match a self-handicap sweepstake match was fired. The handicapping was very fine, and only three qualified for the shootoff. In the second round, with handicaps halved, R. Bowie and J. Potter secured a possible each, and had to fire shot for shot to decide the winner. The final placings were: R. Bowie 1, J. Potter 2, W. T. Grant 3. J. Potter secured the president's button for the best score of the evening off the rifle. The B team will meet the Dunedin B team next Monday evening at the Drill Hall. The following will represent the Returned Soldiers' Club:—D. H. Rowntree, T. Menzies, S. Harvey, J. Harrison L. Watson, W. T. Grant, S. Ewens, J. Potter, R. Morrison, W. Murie. On Thursday evening the B team will fire the last match in the B grade interclub competition against Barnett's B team. With seven shoots of the club championship and bull's-eye competition fired and only one more to be fired to complete the' series the following list should interest the members. Handicaps are declared for the eighth club handicap match to be fired on Monday,

LADIES' NATIONAL RESERVE

On Tuesday evening the Ladies’ National Reserve held the usual practice, and the following shot off in the semifinals for the handicap button:—Miss 1. Robertson,' Mrs Philip, Miss R. Wren, Miss Parker, Miss M. Blagdqn, and Miss M. Hervcy. Miss Wren, Miss Parker, and Miss Hervcy had to shoot off shot for shot in the finals, Miss Wren being tho winner. Miss 1. Robertson won tho rifle badge for the highest shot of the evening.
