Austin defeated Van Ryn, 6-4, 1-6, 6-0; De Stefani (Italy) beat Allison, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1; Perry defeated Keith Gledhill, 4-6, 6-4, 12-10. Perry and Austin advanced to the semi-finals in the doubles by defeating the University of California pair, Lewis and Tidball, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6.
